PerformAzioni International Workshop Festival

BEYOND BORDERS

IX Edition
31 August – 27 September 2020
LABOratorio San Filippo Neri | LIV Performing Arts Centre
BOLOGNA

The title of this edition will be “Beyond Borders”: geographical, stylistic, of gender, with particular attention to the relationship between PERFORMANCE ART and PERFORMING ARTS.

Never like this year, the chosen theme reflects the difficult times in which we are living and which threaten the future of the arts and the theater in its essence of live sharing experience.

In order to let the survive and high-level performer training program in a period of restrictions imposed by the measures to counteract Covid-19, we thought, for the first time, to postpone the festival in September and to consider also the possibility of a remote participation in the workshops, through the various means that the network makes available to us today.

Thanks to the ability of the invited artists and masters to rethink and reprogram their workshops and to find alternative solutions, it will be possible to continue sharing knowledge, techniques, experiences in a work room as well as in a virtual space, which will, in any case, allow distant participants or those who they cannot leave their country, to be part of this IX edition of the festival, unique in its kind due to the particular historical period we are experiencing.

As every year, the festival program includes performances, workshops, meetings, outcomes of workshops in the performing and visual arts. Together with Instabili Vaganti, this year’s masters and guests include: Shamal Amin and Nigar Hasib – Lalish Teater Labor (Kurdistan-Austria), the artist Francesca Fini, Massimo Munaro – Lemming Theater. The calls to register for the workshops are already online, the performance’s program will soon be announced.

PerformAzioni is realized in collaboration with Mismaonda, with the support of: Region Emilia-Romagna, City Council of Bologna, Fondazione Del Monte di Bologna e Ravenna.
