III International Worksession -MIAMI - 19-31 october 2011
Rags of memory is an international project of theatre and performing arts research which explores the new possibilities of the performer and the theatrical communication through the interaction with other disciplines such as cultural anthropology, visual arts and media, ritual dances and songs belonging to different holy and profane cultural traditions.
The main theme is “the memory”, memory as integral part of an human being, biological and anthropological condition for his existence. Rags of memory is an open project in progress that develops itself through new spaces, places and cultural conditions of the contexts in which is invited and thanks to the meeting with new artists involved in the different steps of it.
The project includes: performances, work demonstrations, work sessions, workshops, exhibitions, installations, lectures.
During the work sessions of Rags of memory an international team of selected performers works for an intensive period on the physical and vocal training created within the project and on the creation and composition of actions which become part of the performing structure created and led by the work leaders of the project. During the sessions there will also be meetings and collaborations with visual artists, photographers, video makers, musicians and composers. Within the work sessions are foreseen a series of events such as: work demonstrations, performances, work in progress, lectures, exhibitions, installations.
The international work session would be opened up to 12 participants: performers, actors, dancers, singers, artists
The project’s main artistic intention will be to focus upon:
- The specific training developed for the project
- The exploration and experimentation of the themes of the project
- The creation of a line of actions and of a structure of performance

General schedule
18th October : arrival of participants
19th – 28th October : International work session
29th – 31st October: work demonstrations with the participants
1st November : departures.
Conditions
The space of work will be located in Miami City in an area by the seaside. The international team of participants will work 4 hours per day and some extra work session will be planned also in outdoor spaces and in specific locations. The last 3 days of the program will be aimed to show to an audience the work done within the session through work demonstrations, lectures, video presentations.
The participants will be selected by CV and application form which must be requested and returned filled in all its parts at: organizzazione@instabilivaganti.com including ‘work session 2011’ in the subject line not later than 30th September 2011. Participants will receive an answer as soon as their application will be examined.
The fee for the session will include accommodation and meals for 2 weeks in Miami and will be 700,00 euro / 1000 $.
Participants should provide for their trip and local transports.
